Hong Kong ICT Awards 2017: Best Business Solution (Application) Award

This award stream honours and promotes examples of successful and effective in-house application of ICT to heighten the competitive advantages of company products or services. The Awards will be given to the organisations that have successfully incorporated information technology into existing business operations.
Among the applications which deserve award recognition, there will be a special Award, The Outstanding SME Award, to recognise the most innovative application deployed by a SME

Hong Kong ICT Awards 2017: Best Business Solution (Product & Service) Award

This award stream is granted in recognition of outstanding achievements in technological innovations. Product or service can either be (i) a software product that can be distributed and licensed to the customers in the form of a package, or (ii) in the form of an online service that can be subscribed by its users.
In addition, there will be a special award, The Outstanding SME Award, to recognise the most innovative product or service which is developed by a local ICT SME, or specifically targeting for use by SMEs.

Hong Kong ICT Awards 2017: Best Business Solution (e-Commerce) Award

This award is granted to products and services, and in house applications in e-Commerce.
In addition, there will be a special award, The Outstanding SME Award, to recognise the most innovative product or service which is developed by a local ICT SME, or specifically targeting for use by SMEs; or to recognise the most innovative application deployed by an SME.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have the intellectual property right and/or legitimate right over the ICT product/service mentioned in the application. The applicant shall disclose disputes any place over the world over intellectual property right about the applicant’s ICT product/service, if any, for the Organiser to consider eligibility of the application.
  • The application must be submitted by locally registered entities or residents in Hong Kong.
  • A significant part of the innovation, design, research and development (R&D) of the mentioned ICT product/service must come from resources in Hong Kong. The applicant should demonstrate significant value-add by the Hong Kong resources contributing to the success of the ICT product/service in the target market.
  • With the exception of the categories/streams involving R&D and/or students, the mentioned ICT product/service should have been launched in the market and in operation. For Best ICT Start-up Award category, the “launched and in operation” eligibility criteria shall be at least 3 months for products and services already in the market.
  • The same application is only allowed to be submitted to a maximum of ONE award stream among all the award categories (except the Best ICT Startup Award which is company based). Any application found to have entered into more than one award stream will be disqualified (except for those products, solutions, services mentioned in the application of the Best ICT Startup Award for the purpose of competing in that company-based award).
  • Winning entries of the Gold/Silver/Bronze award in previous years of the HKICT Awards can enter the Awards again, only if there is significant change or enhancement in the product/service, or for a new award category.

Rules and Regulations

  • Applicants are advised to be aware of the best practice and case-based experience as promulgated by the Office of Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
  • Applicants are reminded that any person who, without the permission of Steering Committee of Hong Kong ICT Awards, offers an advantage to parties involved in the Awards as a reward or inducement for doing any act or showing favour in relation to the Awards commits an offence of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (Cap. 201).
  • To avoid conflicts of interest and the perception as such, applications for the Awards from sponsors will not be accepted.
  • In case of any dispute, the decision of the organiser will be final and binding on all parties concerned. 

Application Procedures

Each entrant should return the completed entry form on or before 12:00 noon, 20 January 2017 the Organiser (HKCS) (HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong).
