

Mr. Samson TAI
Chief Technologist ,IBM Innovation Network, Hong Kong
Samson Tai was appointed Chief Technologist, IBM Innovation Network, Hong Kong in June 2008. In this capacity, Samson is the lead innovation and technology spokesperson for IBM Hong Kong, engaging with clients, the industry and the community to share insight and provide consultation. He is also responsible for developing a local technical community within IBM to serve as a portal to IBM research and development, and fostering innovation vitality within the community.
IBM Innovation Network is a global community of IBM senior scientists and technologists who help advance IBM's innovation agenda with multiple audiences and add value to the conversations between IBM and its clients, influencers and internal community. Hong Kong is one of the 29 participating countries under this global initiative.
Since joining IBM as a Field Engineer in 1982, Samson has built a wealth of expertise in the areas of data integration, information search and database technology. He has introduced many leading-edge software products and technologies from IBM development labs to Asia Pacific, and has led and implemented many country-first solutions in the region based on such latest technologies as the Information Integrator, OmniFind Enterprise Search, Web Services and XML technologies.
Samson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science from the York University, Canada, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. He is also a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) of the British Computer Society; Member of Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), UK; and a Certified IT System Architect (CITSA) in Hong Kong.
