IASA IT Architect Core Training by HKCS and ATD Learning (3-7 Jun) The HKCS is bringing to HK for the the course which will provide practical fundamental skills and critical core knowledge of being an IT Architect by authorised trainer, will be held from 3 to 7 June (Mon to Fri). HKCS Enterprise Architecture SIG Speaker Session: Framework Adoption for Java Enterprise Application Development (13 Jun) In this session, Clarence will share his view on the adoption of standard JEE and various popular open source frameworks for developing Enterprise Applications with Java. A high level comparison on the features offered by the official JEE standards and popular frameworks like Spring will be provided. Clarence will also share his experience by reviewing a project that he had done before. In this case study, he will explain the high level application architecture, adoption of opensource tehnologies and the rationale behind some major architectural decisions. He will also share the major challenges in developing enterprise application in Java, as well as lesson learnt for open source technologies adoption. Lastly, we will have open discussions on future thoughts around technology trends such as cloud computing, big data, mobile computing, etc., and their impact on the enterprise architecture design.More Details |

The "Talent ICT Youth Program - ICT-as-a-Career Toolkit and Career Talks" is a new initiative launched by HKCS with the objectives to inspire students to enroll in ICT courses for their tertiary education and to adopt ICT as their career. The program contains two parts: 1) the development of ICT-as-a-Career Toolkit, which includes a 90 minute video with 10-15 interviews/episodes on DVD; 2) Career talks in secondary schools and universities.
