A press conference on Hong Kong IT Professional Certification was held on 28 May 2007. Over 50 press reporters, corporation representatives and IT professionals to joined to witness this significant milestone for the IT industry's professional development.
The IT Professional Certification System and IT Manpower Roster Feasibility Study (ITPCRS) has received great success with the overwhelming response of the industry to the Hong Kong IT Professional Certification. Mr Howard Dickson, the Government Chief Information Office, congratulated the Hong Kong Computer Society for its success in the ITPCRS project. The achievements and vision of this pioneering endeavour accomplished by the collective effort of the industry were also shared by Mr Sunny Lee, the President of Hong Kong Computer Society; Mr Stephen Lau, JP, the Chairperson of Board of Governance and; Prof David Cheung, the Chairperson of Certification Board.
