NeoFace
Control Face Recognition System for
Access Control
A Hong Kong team here uses its very
significant hardware and software engineering
capabilities together with a face recognition
algorithm developed and owned by NEC
Corporation to create a new access control
system for physical premises.
Once authorized users have been pre-registered
into the system, they can gain access
by simply standing in front of a very
small integrated device containing a
camera, which is installed at the various
access points. This device automatically
captures the facial image of the user.
Where a match with a pre-registered
stored facial template is found according
to the face recognition algorithm, the
electronic door lock will open automatically.
Access will otherwise be denied.
The single token authentication and
verification process takes only one
second, and the system additionally
features seamless integration with back
end systems such as payroll, human resources
and accounting applications.
