EditGrid

This online product employs a powerful
core technology, Real-time Update (RTU),
to enable multiple users to access and
edit the same spreadsheet in real time.
Its most striking feature is that users
can tabulate and model real-time data
collected through the Internet for ongoing
live analysis and treatment.
A rich array of innovative features exploits
the Web in order to provide interoperability
capabilities not available to users of
regular desktop spreadsheets. In particular,
EditGrid’s technological edge allows the
aggregation, formulation and modelling
of live data. It is the first spreadsheet
product to combine powerful collaborative
features with interoperability, as evidenced
by the comprehension API layer and the
integration with services from many sources
such as, for example, www.salesforce.com
and ThinkFree Office.
 EditGrid
launched its first public beta in April
2006 to wide acclaim among personal users,
and went out of beta in February of the
following year. Currently, more than 30,000
registered global users enjoy its free
service. There are also more than 40 organizational
subscribers and sales continue to grow
rapidly. The company also positions EditGrid
as a valuable integration and partnership
opportunity and this has further enabled
it to penetrate such markets as Japan
and Korea. Large clients using EditGrid
under licence include Reuters and IBM.
 This
unique software-as-a-service is being
successfully managed towards profitability
by a small and aspirational young team
with a strong engineering focus. |
