Surgical
Virtual Reality (VR) Lab
 Virtual
Reality (VR) techniques are important
in helping medical staff visualize complex
medical data from computed tomography
(CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) particularly during surgery and
surgery planning, and for medical education
and training.
This user friendly laboratory uses networks
in the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern
Hospital to exploit a comprehensive array
of imagery obtained by the hospital's
radiology department. This promotes the
use of various types of visualization,
medical rapid prototyping, and image guided
surgery in a number of different regions
of the body.
