Topic: HP Future Cities: Driving Improvements in Quality of Life and City Efficiencies

Cities are in a perfect storm. They face huge challenges and opportunities. Trends indicate that the population of cities will increase by 1.7B over the next 15 years. This is equivalent to 320,000 people being added to our cities each and every day! Along with this comes the demand for energy, basic services such as roads, utilities, healthcare, educationK. Lastly, natural resources will be constrained by these kinds of growth. Estimates forecast a 45% increase in energy demand, and there are dire predictions about water supply, the two key issues there are the shortage of water and the aging infrastructure managing the water system.

From working with our public sector customers worldwide, HP knows solving the problems is not straight forward. One thing is clear though, the changing environment is forcing governments to reevaluate how they work, what technologies to consider, what business models to adopt and how to move forward in providing quality services to the Citizen and the Business.

This presentation will take a look at the above and other factors / issues in city developments and share how cities & governments around the world, are tackling these issues, while at the same time seizing the opportunity to innovate and come out on top, in delivering quality of life and City Efficiencies.
