The HKICC is an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS). Its goal is to bring together ICT professionals and business and government leaders from all over the world to explore the opportunities that information technology can offer, sharing successes and insight. More than 500 delegates attended last year's conference, representing a variety of local and overseas public and private sector organisations.

Over the past 20 years, the most admired businesses have been technology companies or industrial research and development companies, whose competitive advantage was their capacity to commercialise disruptive innovations. We witnessed a pervasive penetration of disruptive innovation in business world, both globally and regionally, resulting from the rapid development of information and telecommunication technology, from computing, digitalisation, internet, mobility to now cloud computing and knowledge management. New technologies by themselves won’t necessarily help companies keeping up with the changes required for surviving and growing. It’s the business processes and philosophy behind the technology that must be reviewed and optimised to add true value to the business. At the heart of this change, a business must make sure its processes connect people with information, enable greater collaboration and encourage knowledge sharing.

The HKICC2013 aims to provide a platform to bring together all the key personnel such as CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and outstanding scholars from the region to share their experience, knowledge and visions to sculpt a digitally enabled business format which is sustainable and meeting the challenges facing Hong Kong, making this Asia’s world city thrive and prosper in the knowledge economy.
