HKCS BISID Seminar: "We Save, We Spend in Business Intelligently - Positioning for the future"

Hong Kong Computer Society - Business Intelligence Special Interest Divsion (BISID) had organized a sharing forum on Sep 29, 2009 with the theme how we can leverage BI to save money and spend money more intelligently.   The target audiences of this forum were mainly business executives,  finance professionals, accounting professionals, and IT professionals.  Over 80 guests participated in this forum and most of them stayed through the cocktail party for networking.  

Thanks for Frank Yum, the Director of HKCS Special Interest Divsion, taking his valuable time to support us.   Frank helped kick off the event and introduced HKCS.  Toa Charm, the Founder and Chairpson of HKCS BISID, gave his views on the BI trends around the world and how BI can deliver true business values to companies to drive business performance and operation efficiency.    Speakers and panelists from large enterprises, BIG4 and accounting professional associations had a good and rigorous discussion on what and how BI could help on the bottom line and top line in this tough economic situation.   We also gained tremendeous support from most of the major accounting professional assocations as well as a few IT associatins including ACCA, CPA Australia, ISACA, ITAA, HKGCC, iPROA.   Oracle and KPMG were the event sponsor.  

Mr Charm said, "BI is a hybrid of business and IT and one of our major objectives of BISID is to bridge the gap between business and IT.  This kind of forum is first of its kind to get our business executives to aware of the business values of BI and how BI can help them drive business performance.   We will target other business sectors and professional bodies in the future".
