The China International E-Commerce Conference (Guandong) 2009

Organized by the Guangdong Modern Information Service Industry Association, the Department of Information Industry of Guangdong Province and the Guangzhou E-Commerce Association, the China International E-Commerce Conference (GD) 2009 themed as “To promote innovation, facilitate business transformation, and to create the International E-Commerce Center” was aimed to establish “the status of the Pearl River Delta International E-Commerce Center requirements” in accordance with the Government 2008-2020 “Pearl River Delta Reform and Development Plan”. As a supporting organization, the two conveners of the HKCS—EBSID Mr. Eric Lung (Chairperson) and Mr. Dennis Lee (Vice-Chairperson), led some HKCS members with the OGCIO (HKSAR) representatives attended the event held in Guangzhou.

Highly supported by the Guangdong Province officials, different Government officials in GD have presented a lot about the PRD development, the government policies and financial results of the E-Commerce. The vendors like IBM, CISCO and the major China E-Commerce players like Alibaba, Google, Joyo Amazon, China Union Pay, China Mobile (GD) had shared their successful cases, respective visions and views on E-Commerce.

Over 500 attendees supported the conference, it not only provides an opportunity for HK representatives to build networks and connections with different industry participants, but also allows them to learn more about the China regulations, development trend and the E-Commerce successful cases in China mainland.
