Main theme: Multi-Agency Partnerships in Youth Cybercrime Reduction
The growth of the internet has given rise to many cyber risks and has seen a sharp rise in global youth cybercrime. Many studies have been carried out and numerous services are offered to try to tackle these problems and Hong Kong, one of the world’s most prosperous and high-tech metropolises, is no exception. It is facing severe cybercrime problems, especially among youngsters. These include cyber fraud, cyber theft, naked chat with blackmail, and hacking.
The aims of HKFYG’s Project iSmarter, subvented by the Keswick Foundation, is to educate adolescents and the general public on cyber security issues, teaching them how to use the internet wisely and enhancing strategies to cope where cybercrime.
To strengthen exchange and cooperation between different sectors and professions around the world, the Project is organizing the International Conference on Youth and Cybercrime 2019 in Hong Kong and invites scholars, experts and guests to share related knowledge, wisdom and practical experience.
