Hong Kong’s Largest Enterprise Architecture Seminar
Organized by Hong Kong Computer Society Cloud Computing and Enterprise Architecture Special Interest Group (HKCS EASIG), this half-day seminar is the largest enterprise architecture seminar in Hong Kong. The theme of this fifth annual seminar is “Why Cloud and Enterprise Architecting are becoming more important in Digitalisation and Innovation in Hong Kong?”.
In this era of digital transformation with the enabling technologies of cloud, micro-services, API and DevOps methodology, it has triggered big challenges to IT departments and business in planning and execution of their business and IT transformation, and not to mention the additional hurdles of manpower and skill shortfalls which are partly caused by the over-practising of outsourcing and the lacking behind of IT tertiary education curriculum in the past decade.
As revealed by Gartner’s recent 2017 CEO Survey on Digital Transformation, while “IT-related priorities, cited by 31 percent of CEOs, have never been this high in the history of the CEO survey,” said Mark Raskino, vice president and Gartner Fellow, “almost twice as many CEOs are intent on building up in-house technology and digital capabilities as those plan on outsourcing it (57 percent and 29 percent, respectively). We refer to this trend as the reinternalization of IT — bringing information technology capability back toward the core of the enterprise because of its renewed importance to competitive advantage. This is the building up of new-era technology skills and capabilities.”
In this seminar, we have invited the most experienced IT architecture leaders from major organizations to share their viewpoints and real-world experiences in developing enterprise architecture capabilities for the digital economy. They will talk about not only the best practices but also the challenges and lessons learnt. This event is also an invaluable opportunity to connect to the IT architect community for experience sharing.
