Topic : " CMM Practices in India"
Abstract : The Capability Maturity Model (CMM) of Software Engineering Institute (SEI) is a software process improvement model for organizations to determine their ability to develop and maintain software. It also provides a framework for organizations to improve the software development processes.
India is well known for it software industry and a lot of Fortune 500 companies outsourced their software development work to Indian software houses. There is a large of number of companies in India achieved CMM level 4 or level 5. There is a lot of experience to share on the road to achieve high level of software maturity. Mr. Batra will share with us the learning gathered from numerous Indian organizations which has marched towards CMM higher levels. The talk will also cover the benefits and disadvantages, the success factors of applying CMM in these software organizations.
Biography : Mr. Ajay Batra is the fifth individual in the world who is both a Software CMM and people CMM Lead Assessor. He has trained hundreds of software professionals on CMM and is currently consulting and performing formal CMM Assessments for a number of organizations in India, USA, Europe, and Singapore.
Ajay holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from USA and a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from New Delhi, India. He has worked in India and in USA at Bellcore, NJ and at Citibank in various managerial and technical positions related to process improvement. Mr. Batra is also a Certified Quality Analyst (CQA).
