The Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) was officially founded and registered on 20th April 1970 by a group of eighteen pioneering computer professionals. |

The HKCS News Bulletin was renamed as GI-GO ( Garbage-In Garbage-Out), a then fashionable acronym to denote the importance of accurate user requirements in system design. |

The Code of Professional Conduct was released for Society members. |

The Hong Kong Computer Census was produced, the first ever report on the actual number of computers installed in Hong Kong as well as the number and type of personnel employed in the computer field. |
