Dr Samson Tam is a Legislative Councilor from the functional constituency of Information Technology and the Chairman of Group Sense (International) Ltd. Dr Tam graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1986 with a Bachelor degree of Science (Hons), and later was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 1992, Dr Tam was awarded the "Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong" in recognition of his business achievement and contribution to the local industrial sector. He was also named one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" in 1997. In recognition of his service and leadership in technology and the community, Dr Tam was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by HKUST in 2008, the leading technological university in Asia. He is now a member of Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee, chairman of Hong Kong Trade Development Council ICT Services Advisory Committee and a committee member of the Action Committee Against Narcotics. |
