Ir. Dr. Louis C.K. Ma has had over 30 years experience in information systems (IS) development; management, consulting, and IS education. He is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Industry Relations at the Department of IS, City University of Hong Kong. His teaching, research and consulting interests are in IS policy and strategy, project management and outsourcing, e-markets, business transformation and IS education. He is a member of the UGC Task Force on Outcomes-based Approaches in Student Learning.

Louis is a Council Member of the Hong Kong Computer Society from 2007 to 2009 (Director of Education, Training & Certifications), a former VP of HKCS and convener of its e-Business Special Interest Group as well as an advisory member of the Hong Kong IT Industry Council. Louis has served as Speakers, Panelists, Programme/Organizing Committees in several local and international IT conferences. He is a co-convener of the Expert Group in developing the examination scheme for Business Analyst and also the President of the Hong Kong chapter of the Association of IS (HKAIS). As a former member of HKSAR's Election Committee (1998-2005; 2 terms), Louis participated in the Digital-21 IT strategy planning and IT Manpower and Training Requirements study.

Louis obtained his MBA degree from the University of Technology, Sydney and his PhD from the University of Warwick (IS Strategy study). Louis has successfully completed several IS consulting projects and management/planning workshops for senior business executives and IS managers in Hong Kong and Australia.
