As General Manager for Microsoft Hong Kong Limited, Mr. Herman Lam oversees overall strategy, business operations, and outreach for the Hong Kong subsidiary. Lam leads an executive team responsible for Microsoft's entire business in Hong Kong including key customer organizations, business and marketing groups, and technical support and consultancy services. Before his appointment as General Manager, Lam was Deputy General Manager of Microsoft Hong Kong.

Prior to that, he was Director for Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group, responsible for building and developing relationships with customers in the SME market and more than 2,600 Microsoft partners, helping them enhance their businesses through Microsoft technologies.

A longtime Microsoft veteran, Lam joined the company in April 1996, gaining valuable experience in business development, enterprise marketing and account management during his tenure in the Public Network Sales division. He has also been involved in various business functions at Microsoft, including Internet Customer Unit, Consumer Customer Group, Enterprise Customer Group and Partner Business Group, and developed strategic relationships with ICPs, ISPs, network operators, partners as well as customers.

Lam has also taken an active role in key community affairs and industry associations, serving as a non-official member of the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Council Member for the Hong Kong Computer Society, Chairman of Cyberport Tenants Club, and Committee Member for the Digital Solidarity Fund of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. He additionally had the great privilege of being an Olympic torchbearer in Hong Kong for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games torch relay.

Herman Lam holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The University of North Texas in the United States.
