Alfred Wong is the Chief Technology Officer and Head of HKEx's Information Technology Division since May 2004 to lead and manage HKEx's mission critical IT development and operations. Before that, Mr. Wong was the Deputy Head of Information Technology Division since May 2001.

Mr. Wong rejoined the Stock Exchange in November 1992 and held the last position as the head of IT of the Stock Exchange.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Wong was a project leader at the Australian Stock Exchange and a consultant application engineer at Australia's Westpac Banking Corp and he worked at the Stock Exchange between 1985 and 1987 as computer development manager.

Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Chemistry from the University of Hong Kong, a Graduate Management Qualification from the University of New South Wales in Australia and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Executive MBA programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
